It's interesting that this did not see wider reporting. Even living in North Carolina, this is the first I've heard of it. Meanwhile, all the "challenges" and court actions to prevent forgiving student debt made the headlines for weeks.

Debt collection is a multi-billion dollar industry in America. It's not in the industry's interest to see movement toward debt forgiveness – let alone see it successful application of it publicized.
