It's "internalized misogyny" in action. Generation upon generation of women have literally been brainwashed.

Thing is, it's not the original Christian way. Into the third century, women were leaders in the church. They were priests/preachers, healers, prophets, missionaries (evangelists), and even a few bishops. As the church became more Pauline in it's doctrines, they restricted and suppressed women's roles and history in the church.
