It's not a matter of feeling "appreciated elsewhere" – it's of not having school bullies threat children like mine with, "Trump's gonna send you and your dad to the gas chambers," – as my then middle-school-aged son had happen to him. It's about not having children like mine assaulted with near impunity because he's just not white enough for the Trumpian anti-Middle Eastern rabid bigotry. It's about my husband not being worried that applying to renew his American passport would make the Trump immigration "reexamine" his citizenship – or that, if he traveled to Iran to visit his siblings (all over 65), that he might night be allowed immediate reentry to the States; these are things that happened under that orange nincomnomnipoop. If we left it'd be because we felt threatened; it would be a matter of feeling safe.

"Nin-com-nomni-poop" is a term my then middle schooler came up with to describe Trump and his sychopantic following. He said "omni" in the middle made the word mean "infinitely stupid on purpose."
