I've been places where it seemed something other was present, could be felt. I think extreme events can leave a mark on a place. Sometimes, the events are good and make a place feel homier. Sometimes, it feels like a darkness. Others, it's a lonely feeling.

We've all caught that glimpse of someone out of the corner of our eye, who turned out not to be there when we looked full on in that direction. It can be startling and leave you a little breathless.

I would never discount someone's sense about place where they felt something. I've felt stuff too.
