I've had similar struggles with the way people perceive me. I've been accused of being "too honest" which is not a thing I can even consider changing. I've also been told I'm a snob because I choose to speak correctly with the vocabulary I've learned. And, those same folks have told me to "keep it to one syllable words" – I've literally been told I should to talk down to people with small words because it makes them feel bad when they can't understand a "million dollar word."

What the heck is a million dollar word? I'm not going to presume everyone I talk with is illiterate – epecially when they grew up in the same damn schools I did!
