I've long felt the same way. IME, hate is a kind of mental illness. Society was so quick to label homosexuality and promiscuity as mental illnesses, and to institutionalize people they deemed affflicted. But, society seems loathe to see the emotional and mental needed to hate to the point that to challenge it becomes unpatriotic and/or evil in the eyes of the haters.
