“Liberal” party members? Really? I don’t doubt the UK’s electoral system also is in need of overhauling. Both your and our systems remain 19th Century systems that have not kept up with the needs of our Technology-Age electorate.

I don’t have a deep understanding of how the UK political system functions. However, what the administration of Boris Johnson looks like from the outside, to us here in the US, is a wannabe-Trump style of rightwing alternate reality. Also, aren’t the Tories in power? Wasn’t Brexit an almost entirely rightwing imposition of Tories like Johnson? Doesn’t the current iteration of Tories at least cloak themselves in the veneer of conservatism as do the GOP in America? How is the “liberal, in most cases” party the most powerful when they’ve remain out of power since 1922?

In fact, for the past century, there have been 16 conservative prime ministers as opposed to 9 Labour prime ministers — and no liberal party prime ministers since David Lloyd George in 1916–22.
