Losing pets really is losing a family member, often like losing a child. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I wish I could tell you it would stop hurting. But, we'd all know that's a lie. You get used to the hurt and it recedes into the background… but it doesn't go away. You'll always hold the treasure of your pet in your heart, made all the more precious through the bittersweet lens of memory.
