Love, love, love Ncuti! As for Jodie Whittaker, Chris Chibnall (the show runner for her tenure) did her no favors. He writes the same set of three characters in everything. He kept sidelining her throughout her run to write the companions — who were that three characters. When Graham and Ryan left (rumored to have been because of Chibnall), Chibnall tried to turn the Doctor and Dan into the other two characters and to manufacture a romance between Yaz and the Doctor. It was ham-fisted and incongruous; and, there was no chemistry between them.

Plus, he rammed Captain Jack Harkness into the mix briefly as a get out jail free device for the Doctor who was imprisoned for decades under reasons not well covered. Then, he pushed John Barrowman out like a pariah.

It really pisses me off because I think Jodie Whittaker is amazing and could have been one of the series best Doctors. I would have loved to see her with Alex Kingston's River Song. And, my goodness, what a missed opportunity to have River meet Sacha Dhawan's Master! That would have been something to see!
