Christmas In Heaven

My father, passed away last night. Issues aside, I loved both my parents and we we were at peace with each other. Both parents have passed now. I feel utterly bereft.

Christmas In Heaven

But, I take comfort in my faith in which I believe my father is sharing Christmas again with mother (who passed in 2019) and with our Dawny (who passed in 2016). Christmas in heaven… I envision his smiles and joy with mother and my sister. I imagine his beautiful baritone voice raised in song and praise with the heavenly hosts, welcomed into Christ’s embrace.

“Prayer of Mourning”

Merciful and Loving God
Surround and hold us in your Grace.
All who mourn today beseech your loving compassion.
Grief has come to us beyond our power to comprehend or overcome.
We ask you to guide us and preserve us,
Lift our hearts and let us not be overwhelmed
Nor turn against you in our confusion and grief.
Hold our hands, Lord, as we walk daily
Through this veil of sadness and tragedy.
Carry us in your Love and Mercy
Until we come again to a place
Where we can look forward
And again know your Joy and Peace.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

~Amen
