My dad was into woodworking. He built cradles for all the grandkids and beds for their first beds, among other projects. I sketched out a design for a dresser for my son with a stable base impossible to tip over; my dad created it exactly as I envisioned it.

As to his workbench, he built it himself. It looked rather a lot like the workbence in your image "A 'modern' wood shop in Roubo's time."
