My husband already moved from Iran and learned German, then to the US and learned English. He's adamant that he's not up to yet another new language immersion – nor going anywhere further cut off from family and friends. In Germany and in Canada, he has family. Two of his brothers and a few others from his hometown in Iran are in Germany. All his old friends are still there too. He has a niece and a couple of cousins in Canada.

I'm already cut off from my fundamentalist evangelical Trumper kin. My created family would love to travel often to either Germany or Canada – so, I'd see them about as often as I do now. It comes down to our son too. Hamid nor I are willing to live far from him, wherever he settles.
