My husband and I suffered through the Flood of '93 in Missouri. The flood lasted more than 200 days. It seriously impacted my health. I'm still dealing with the fallout from that.

It will hurt, but if it got wet, get rid of it. It will never be right again and may mold. We thought we'd dried our platform bed frame and my combo armoire/chest-of-drawers. But, the wet got under the laminate and into the base wood; they molded and rotted from the inside.

A lot of my artwork had to be tossed. It was all up out of the way. However, the months of damp still seeped into stuff and some of my pieces mildewed. Most of our stored clothes went too. None of it got wet because seasonal clothes were stored on the shelves in the tops of our closets. But, like the artwork, most of it mildewed from the inescapable damp.
