I'm sorry. I'm very passionate about this topic because those tests you're recommending were crippling my son's ability to choose his own path and actively discouraging his calling.

My son had a least a dozen of those tests. One said he was suited to low-challenge manual tasks. Another placed him in remedial learning. They said he has autism or Asperger's before settling on ADHD and that he would struggle academically. Yet another said he was best suited to academic pursuits. They said he would have behavior issues. They said he would be prone to violence and manipulation.

Bugger them all. He does NOT have behavior issues. No body manipulates him. That boy is one of the most stubborn, strong headed people I've ever known.

When I ignored them and gave him his lead, his grades immediately shot him to the honor roll, where he's stayed since. At 13, he founded a game studio that is about to launch a game for Xbox and Valve. Microsoft was so impressed with him and his game studio cohorts, already developing for the Valve platform, that they contacted him! Their game is slated to make over a million dollars for each of the members of his game dev company in the first three years. But, all that is just his side-hustle.

At 15, he got himself into a prestigious magnate high school healt sciences academy (HSA). The school also has a prestigious STEM program and they fought for the first three semesters to try to poach him from HSA.

He chose his own path and purpose. He just finished his EMT course and has been onboarded as an apprentice. The apprenticeship will pay for him to get his paramedic training and license. He'll use that to pay his way through medical school to become an ER doctor.

He's 18 years old and graduates from high school in June – in spite of all the tests nay-saying his success.

I say again… Bugger them all. And bugger their tests.
