My son's ADHD was first identified at school.

From vaccination programs and scoliosis checks, to wellness checks and learning-disability screening, healthcare has long been part of U.S. public education. My own autism was first misdiagnosed as a learning disability — at a school mental-health screening— a year before I got that glorious, gorgeous set of ugly black specs.
