No one is "canceling 'woman'" – Trans women not only use the term in their own gender identity, they embrace it. Rowling decided the hill to die on was denying them the right to the term. If that's not what she intended, she should be empathetic enough to realize it's what her carping on it has said to the world. And yes, not wanting “her noun to be part of the activism” is denying trans women that nomenclature and is transphobic.

Not to mention, it harkens back to that old trope that a woman can't be woman enough without menses and successful childbirth.
