No they don't. They need to "go together," but matching is not only not required, it's to be avoided.
Matchy-matchy is sartorial conformity at its worst. Unless your making a monochrome statement, or you're being ironic, matchy-matchy is without imagination, without personality, and without a sartorial backbone – it's letting someone else dress you even after mommy stopped do that for you. 😉
