Oh gosh, yes! Scented anything is a problem for me. My asthma is scent reactive! Tobacco smoke is a sure trigger for an asthmatic episode. But, none of my kin got it. They never acquiesced to my request they not wear scent. They wouldn't even come to visit my home because the would not be permitted to smoke, not even on my sun porch. And, they just couldn't grasp that I could NOT sit in their homes full of smoking residue.

In addition, both my son and myself have mild photophobia. We both get crippling migraines (including vomiting). That one wasn't a real problem because my mother had the same issue. The rest of it? I always got, "It's all in your head."

My husband doesn't understand those issues, but he does recognize they're real. He loves scent and air fresheners. He's Persian. Perfume is practically a divine gift to them. And, they love their hookahs. But, he hasn't had those things in his life since we got together.
