When you get control of it back, make sure to set up a backup email that you can use to get back into it, as well as two-factor authentication with your cell.

At my son's behest, I maintain a separate email for my writing stuff. But, it's backup linked through my other email. Plus, I have a identity security which my son set up for me. And, I have two-factor authentication with my cell. All of that is backed up to my son too, with him having all my passwords and security info.
