Oh… give me a real book

Ah… the creaking of the binding

the cover becoming a wall

a barrier from humdrum now

Let me feel its weight in my hands

I want to sink into its pages

reveling in the smell of it

hear the crinkling of its pages

as I lovingly turn each one

every page a bright door

a door between this world

and the unfolding story world
