Or… instead of them having to be abused, they learn to love themselves and cultivate empathy. As I've said many times, "hate is a mental illness." I feel that bullying falls into that same illness. And, I think it starts with a self-image which needs to make others small, to take power from others and dominate them in an effort to feel better about themselves… to feel empowered themselves.

There's no room for empathy or compassion for others because bullies feel like others are against them, different is to be feared and must be dominated. Dominance is how they see their worth.

Bullies find their power and worth externally, by attempting to take it from others. If bullies can be taught to self-empower and self-worth, they could learn empathy and compassion.
