Organized religion is control. Religious followers are afraid of losing that control. Religion and religious followers have lost the thread; they worship the religion itself. Organized religion and religious followers have appointed themselves the gate keepers – the barrier between humanity and God. Behind the gate of organized religion, they get to decide who is worthy, who is included. That's what they fear… losing that control, not controlling their petty little club of exclusion.

That's not Christianity. Trying to follow the way of Jesus, as He Himself demonstrated in His life and teachings is Christianity – it's literally the defintion of being a Christian… to follow Christ.

Jesus never told anyone to go out and start a religion. In fact, when He died on the cross, the barriers erected between humanity and God were torn asunder. Before, God was accessed by a sole individual, the priest, behind the Temple veil. When Christ died on the cross, that curtain was rent from top to bottom, the barrier torn away.
