People think you always have to "stand your ground" and that it "tells them they're right" if you leave. But, staying ignores the harm such ignorance and vitriol do to the people targeted. It's awful to have to give up a place that's otherwise perfect for you. But, as you made clear, you couldn't stay for the sake of your daughter – she deserved not to be terrorized by that entitled racist woman.
