People think you being asked to create original art for them or give them a piece of your art to hang in their home or business should be met with gratitude — the gratitude of "getting your work out there." Pricing is arbitrary too. No one ever considers the hours, sometimes weeks or months that go into creating artwork. I'd say most of us artists creating for art's sake are lucky to make $1 an hour when you break it down — rather like Medium for must of us.
