Precisely. They should be increasing voter access, not limiting it. Some of these red states even purge voter rolls. Georgia purged tens of thousands of almost exclusively minority voters from the voting rolls in 2018, in the run up to the governor's race. They did it again in 2021, purging more than 100,000 mostly Black voters from the rolls. Texas is doing it right now. Arizona's been doing it since 2021. Other red states are developing their own voter roll purges. These purges almost always target minorities and population centers – both groups of which are typically left-leaning voters. These same states are also closing polling stations in left-leaning districts.
