Religion, yes.

… a religious place to be “taught” about the great things in the sky that will save you or doom you? That is called child abuse, in my opinion. The whole idea of religion rests on the premise of reward and punishment.

Religion, yes. Religion is a construct of man seeking to constrain and control -- it's dogma. Faith is a matter of person belief. Religion's dogma is what people without faith rely upon.
