Roughly half of immigrant farworkers are undocumented. The right screams about "illegals" all the time, but are unwilling to do anything about the systems luring them in. Our agriculture sector literally could not function without undocumented migrant farmworkers. Corporate farms are only profitable off the exploitation of those workers. Independent farmers can't get away with that in most cases. Corporate farms undercut independent farmers in large part because they have that massive exploited workforce.
