Sadly, people doing their best in honest, humble work are always looked down upon. Naming your baby "King" can't have helped foster a sense of humility or gratitude.

But, there is genuinely a larger issue at play, I believe. Too many people seem to think that servers and service workers are endentured to them personally for as long as they are the customer.
