Something else a lot of newbies may not realize… High follower authors are often sought out by followers from other platforms. I'm not a "high follower author." However, before I became a member and partner this past March, almost all of my followers on Medium were followers from other platforms – like, WordPress, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. I joined in 2016 and had gained around one thousand followers that way.
