TBF, my bedroom is painted chocolate brown and the MBA has one mauve wall. But, to be equally fair to myself, when we bought this house, the bedroom was painted in gunmetal gray and Seville orange horizontal bands, and that mauve wall was also orange. An orange wall in the bathroom, facing the mirror so that you alway look jaundiced. He only painted those rich colors because white would have taken forever to cover the colors we inherited when we bought the house.

Also, the other two bedrooms and the front BA are painted bog standard light blue. It's not a lovely blue, by any means. It's just boring, very light blue – it's really just a blue-ish off white IME.

But, the only other time I've ever had color on my walls was the house in MO. And, that was only because the kitchen was wallpapered and it was peeling, so my husband pulled it down. After he touched up the walls, he HAD to paint. So he did a rag wash treatment in shades of yellow. I call the end result "Tuscan sun yellow."
