That actually comes with them stepping away. It's a choice they made and I'm sure it was the right choice for them. But, they stepped away from a job and a set of responsibilities which entailed certain protocols and ties. You don't walk away from a job and get to keep the title and company holdings. I don't think the queen was trying to punish them, for all that it looks like that from the outside.

But, again, I agree a swath of the populace and the media have been very racist in their treatment of Meghan Markle.
