That alone is terrifying. I can testify that the pneumonia vaccines saved my life. Before the first one, I used to get pneumonia 3 to 5 times a year. I kept a bronchial cough from September until April. After that first shot, 20 years ago, I've only had pneumonia 3 times total. The last time, in 2018, they gave me a new vaccine for another strain of pneumonia virus and I haven't even had a serious cold since then.
With the flu vaccine — I cannot count how many times the flu and cold turned into bronchitis or pneumonia.
In school, before the vaccines became required, I'd had the measles vaccine. There was an outbreak in my grade level. It seemed like half the kids got it and missed three weeks or more recovering. A couple of kids never came back to school — I don't know what happened. It was a school full of Navy kids. Maybe their families transferred out. Whatever the reason, they just didn't come back to school after they caught the measles.
