That closed mindedness is entirely on the rightwing extremists. They are literally trying to destroy multiculturalism. Their goal is to enforce the kind of social purity your're discussing. That's what their culture wars are all about. It's why they want to shutter libraries… why they're legislating AGAINST teaching any history that doesn't glorify white-identity. All Black history is cast as "Critical Race Theory" – something that has NEVER been taught outside specific speciality law school programs. But, the right is now banning books by Toni Morrison and Maya Angelou, and even Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird.

These are not people with whom we can reason or compromise. That's actually how we got here. Progressives and liberals have tried to be inclusive and compromise with the GOP for the last 70 years. In that time, the GOP has skewed increasingly right, becoming even more increasingly extreme since America elected a Black president. Compromising with them to try to include them is how we ended up with a corrupted SCOTUS we'll be living with for generations because of their lifetime appointments.

Democrats, progressives, and liberals aren't by any means perfect. But Trump's GOP is actively trying to destroy democracy and turn this country into a Dominionist coporate theocracy bent on bringing a Christian corporate to the world. Please don't expect us to compromise with that… especially given that you are seeking the world's and your own utter subjugation if they achieve their goals.
