That is precisely what these red states are doing. Research into the groups pushing this shows they are driven by political pac; they're not even actual parents in the school systems in many cases. They are usurping the rights of the majority of parents for the "parental rights" of a tiny minority. Most white parents don't want this. No African American or LatinX American or Asian American parents want this. Indigenous parents absolutely do not want this. Immigrant parents don't want this.

This is NOT about "parental rights" – it's about extremist's rights and state control.
