That still makes Eve responsible for Adam's choice.
My pastor back then was teaching that Adam was responsible for his choice. And, in this story – if we take in the whole story of Adam – he was the elder of the two people. He had existed long enough to name all the creatures and plants of the Garden BEFORE Eve was brought into existence. He'd lived all that time with knowledge of what he was and was not supposed to eat.
My pastor also pointed out that Adam must have been tempted before Eve existed. Are we to believe Adam existed all that time, the time it took to put names to everything – then become lonely and depressed when he ran out of things to name… Are we supposed to believe that temptation never came to him?
