They already do not live by the Ten Commandments. Except for killing someone, most people have broken the a combination or all the rest of the commandments. And, the folks demanding the Ten Commandments be displayed everywhere have little interest in the Beatitudes and probably no interest in seeing them displayed. They certainly aren't going to live by those words of Jesus.
