THEY chose religion, politics, etc over us. They have their reward... our exit from their lives. My parents are gone now. I mourned their loss when they chose hate over me and my family well before their deaths. I didn't feel deep loss for them when they passed. I felt sorry they missed out on the love and inclusion they might have known if they'd made space in their hearts for us. That is what I mourned.

We didn't turn our backs on them. They threw us away.
