This also is a belief contrary to the basic evidence of life. It also runs contrary to scripture which counts the start of life from first breath – that's the first breat outside the womb. If life began at conception, would God then allow MORE THAN HALF of all pregnancies to end in "spontaneous abortion," i.e., miscarriage. Most failed pregnancies end before women even know they were pregnant. Science now being able to determine at earlier and earlier periods when pregnancy occurs, science has also been able to track that more than half of KNOWN pregnancies spontaneously abort. How many more were never tracked?

Imagine all of humanity. Then imagine the numbers of pregnancies in all of human existence. If every conception is life, try to imagine the count of the lives in those lost pregnancies which will far and away VASTLY outnumber the count of the born humans.

The logic would follow then, that either those lost pregnancies are not lives because the God who is love would not kill more than half of the lives conceived – Or, if they are lives, then either a god is cruel beyond imagining or there is no god.
