This has put me in mind of a sermon by the pastor of the SBC my parents attended when I was small. He taught this very ideal. I was young and don't know what passed between the adults about that sermon.

Sadly, it wasn't long after that he tried to convince the congregation to accept a Black family as members. That congregation refused and the church fractured and ultimately was dissolved.
