This is a serious issue here in US schools. More and more, we're seeing arts studies scaled back and even eliminated in our public schools. It's been happening for decades now. The education cuts started ratcheting up with the Reagan administration and have accelerated in the decades since. If you want proof of how taking the arts out of public school impacts a society, look to the MAGA movement and the Tucker Carlson fans – these are people who have been deliberately deprived of learning the most basic skills of critical thinking and discernment.
