To be completely clear, women have never had "generations of equal rights" in America – women of color even more so. The ERA was never passed. Women have never had economic equality nor equity of opportunity. Our rights have always been at risk. Abortion is just the most glaring success in rightwing success in beginning the stripping away of our already limited rights.
