True. TBF, the Christian demonization of those cultures was really a continuation of the Roman demonization. The Roman Catholic Christian church, which was all there was at that time in Europe, was already deeply ingrained in the idea that everything not Roman was barbaric. They just made it everything not Christian was barbaric heresy. The Roman Empire never vanished – it morphed into the church.
