Two years ago, I was going blind. I was an artist and writer who couldn't see to create.
Last year, I had cataract surgery with full corrective lasik and had my astigmatism in both eyes corrected. For the first time in my memory, I could open my eyes and see without groping for a pair of glasses.
It was costly. We're still paying the debt we accrued for it and will be for a couple of years yet. I do need over the counter readers for close work. But, I ended up with better than 20/20 vision without glasses. I don't need them to drive. I can see across my own neighborhood with visual accuity. I can see to create again.
It's amazing. I share your joy and wonder to be able to see.
