We cannot "prove [ourselves]" with words. You don't identify followers of Christ by their words. Indeed, if someone has to force you to accept their beliefs, don't you agree they are already suspect?

You have rightly, and cogently identified the antithesis of the Christ-centered faithful. To know Christ following Christians, watch; you identify us, as Christ directed us to be known, by our love for others. We do our best to live the love of God. We're not going to beat you over the head with our progressive faith.
