We lost my one of my sisters to cancer in 2016. She did a round of aggressive treatment for reasons similar to what you describe the doctors advising. It didn't improve her diagnosis and they wanted her to go for another round, My folks and other sister tried to push her to do so as well. But, she stood her ground and stopped treatments. It was so hard to lose her, but she made what I think was the best decision for her.
