Enjoy the savings! We certainly do so.
We take every advantage of loyalty points toward our gas. We earn them when we buy groceries and fill prescriptions at the grocery store pharmacy. We actually earn A LOT of points with prescriptions… like, a dollar or more per gallon off the price. With two cars, that let's us knock around 50¢ a gallon off for each car. Even if we have to fill up before the next month's rewards drop, we still get 10¢ a gallon off with my husband's employee discount, plus the VIC anytime 3¢ loyalty reduction.
Plus, my car – which has been ceded to our son – is a Camry hybrid. My son is excellent at maximizing the mileage and gets upwards of 70 mpg on average. Our other car is an ancient 2001 Camry and even it still gets 35 mpg.
