What I have experienced is that God is love. I've studied the Bible. But, I don't worship the book. The book itself says it is not the Word of God. It tells us Jesus is the Word after reminding us that "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." It literally tells us that the Word of God existed before language, before writing. It also tells us that God is love.

If God is love, then the Word of God can only be love. I believe truly God inspired writing must be an expression of that love. If we read with discernment, we can identify God's messages of love in any scripture or faith writings.

Scripture, for all that its writers were inspired by God, was still written by men. It is incumbent upon us to discern God's messages of love from the writer's period and cultural impositions.
