When we had our son, I was very deliberate in choosing his name. I wanted it to be a statement of where he comes from… who is people are. I chose my Gran's family name (a Scottish clan name) for his first name and my husband chose a Persian name for his second name. We reasoned that he'd be better off with an English first name than with the Persian. The best part is that my husband chose a second name which means, "born of love." So, "Graham Mehrzad" is literally, "gray house born of love."
