Why Don’t Marriages Last Like Our Grandparents’ Generation?
Better yet, why is Chef Jamie Oliver amplifying this asinine question?
This question is doing the rounds on Facebook. I’ve seen it posted and reposted by several people over the past several days. And, the source is invariably some food or recipe profile. What does this have to do with cooking or “Tasty Recipes?”
What really chaps my hide — and a question I’m sure rant-artists supreme, Celtic Chameleon will agree is pertinent and just plain stupid: Why is a profile purporting to be the “Chef Jamie Oliver” page amplifying this asinine question?
Stop. Just stop even asking this ignorant, patriarchal, chiding rant of a question. That’s what it is — it is a denunciation of NOT forcing people to remain in deleterious or even downright dangerous relationships. Should we return to the days when “until death do us part” meant remaining bound together no matter who is hurt in the process?
