Why I haven’t been blogging lately

So… I haven’t been blogging much of late. Please read the reasons why:

For most of the past year, I have increasingly struggled to see because of completely curable cataracts. Necessarily, my reading and writing fell off increasingly. Always an avid reader, I have been distressed not to be able to see well enough to read any longer. I haven’t been able to see well enough to drive for over a year now. I had to entirely give up my art photography. And, my production of new artworks and my three WIPs had to be completely suspended.

I’ve already had one of the eyes corrected and am awaiting the second, due the 2nd of August. We’ve already gone into debt for the corrective lenses for both eyes because insurance does not cover them at all and they had to be paid for in advance of the surgery. The corrective lenses cost $7200, cash out of pocket. In addition, we will also have out of pocket expenses whatever part of the surgery isn’t covered by insurance.
